Both SF and Vancouver had trials before, but both their transit management deemed Double Deckers were not feasible. Maybe it's just an excused for liability issues.

I think the US versions uses DANA Axles. The NA versions uses mainly local components, such as Axles, fuel tanks, brakes, doors, etc. Even the Cummins engines too.

And SF had seen Leyland Atlanteans, Olympians, MCWs, and even E500s in the city's open-top fleet for many years..... Granted, these are operated by private entities, and I have no memory as to whether the open-top sightseeing routes would crisscross paths with the trolleys. |

想當MUNI借返黎做測試既E500,行過既其中一條路線本身就係行無軌電車的
而現在既OPEN-TOP車亦都會有機會經過電纜底
但其實向MUNI裡面,電纜既高度並唔係真係咁統一,有部份大上大落既地方
有時D電纜真係低得幾誇張,但我唔認為呢個係點解MUNI唔入雙層車既主要原因
其實當年我有坐過送黎測試既E500,感覺真係好差,D位仲窄過3ASV樓上
而且部車無論樓上樓下都感覺好矮,向乘客既角度,我真係一D都唔鐘意呢部車
而從車上既乘客對話中,除左新鮮之外,係絕無好評 |
