較早前, ADL宣布將於倫敦同格拉斯哥(Glasgow)聯同各市交通局測試充電式混能(Virtual Electric)巴士, 其中E350VE曾於巴士展亮相

然而, 當地嘅SPT就宣布退出有關測試, 話因為私營巴士公司認為有關車輛現時喺成本上無現時嘅混能車吸引

文章又透露, 嗰部車嘅內部測試結果亦都遠不及廠方預期, 話只有一成半時間以純電模式行走, 同廠方預期嘅八成有好大距離

我淨係覺得Series車本來已經係傾向純電驅動, 以呢個基礎改成Virtual Electric版應該唔難

或者充電速度, 從而影響班次準確度真係關鍵

人為因素, 譬如架車無對正充電裝置就另計

呢度有張仲清楚, 仲有埋廳相

部車居然唔係用方梯, 睇落仲有啲似StreetDeck/Gemini 3嗰條

有啲位我覺得幾突兀, 譬如擺電嗰個位, 零零舍舍用預製組件包住
倫敦版可能無咁突兀

另外, 擺引擎嗰邊, 一高一低嘅對頭位, 向前嗰邊成個預製組件露晒出嚟
如果ADL好似New Routemaster咁處理會好得多

頭批嘅淨重好似係約十一點六噸, 次批用另一款L記凳而輕過頭批嘅約二百公斤

另外, Brighton 嘅長陣StreetDeck淨重約十一點三噸, Lothian 嘅長陣B5TL都係同佢差唔多噸位

Both aren't really like-for-like comparison, considering how much more kits are fitted on TfL-spec buses. We won't see a real comparison until Go-Ahead London's EHV-class enter service over summer. My rough guess is the E400MMC-bodied version shall be about 100kg heavier than the Gemini.

The pantograph 7905H you are thinking about is the Electric Hybrid - plug in hybrid is different in that it has a socket for charging in depot overnight. Charging method is currently the difference between the 7905H and E350HVE, although I recall reading from some source that, Volvo is open to adapt the B5LH for wireless charging as well (in response to the E400HVE due in London).

Wireless charging is not, in relative terms, not as efficient as plug-in or pantograph. Doing this through electromagnetic influence involve a bigger energy loss. The problem ADL faces, if true, could be down to the charge pad being not efficient enough.

This is no different to the Wright-bodied version though. In fact, I expect the London-spec version to have the battery moved forward at the same place as that on the Geminis, in order leave space for the rear door.

Personally, I quite like ADL has moved the battery pack further back. It makes the low floor space a bit more open.

It looks like the StreetDeck and B5TL weighs almost exactly the same. Both demonstrators with Go-Ahead London has a weight different of 60kg in StreetDeck's favour.

不過, 之前啲巴士雜誌唔係話Lothian喺Scottish Green Bus Fund度攞資助, 訂E400MMC殼B5LH咩?
莫非中途改咗訂單?

I am not surprised, given only so much can be done to take weight out of the bodywork. What is interesting is that it looks like the B5LH chassis itself is also lighter than the diesel E40D. Against the E40H, it is almost 400kg as well. Now I know that the E400s have a slightly bigger engine, which weighs more. However the difference is still quite startling.

Small wonders that the Volvo hybrid is selling so well lately.
