299X 西貢<--->大圍火車站

為了提供更直接之路線方便原本於繁忙時間乘坐299往返沙田之乘客,
建議開辦特別路線299X由西貢往返大圍火車站.
此線將會取道T7公路, 不停馬鞍山, 直接往返西貢往沙田市中心一帶,
並提供47X, 48X, 49X之八達通轉乘優惠, 吸引乘客於繁忙時間由西貢往返荃灣.

只是想提提你，T7已正名為「馬鞍山繞道」。

為何不由沙燕橋（沙田鄉事會路）或獅子橋（獅子山隧道公路）過去小瀝源呢？

Well... I think terminating at Sha Tin Town Centre with 299 is better... As people would then get on the bus they first sees... And also the frequency of 299 could be changed by a little... So from Sha Tin Town Centre, the 299X wont depart shortly before/after 299... And there would be more people choosing 299X...
But this couldnt be done if 299X change to terminate at Tai Wai... Since the parking space for 299 now, the 299X would have to follow the way that 282 do inside Sha Tin Town Centre and that would waste up to 5mins with the traffic there... And if your 299X stop is different to 299 at Sha Tin Town Centre, I think people would wait for the more frequent 299 rather than 299X...
Also, since there are interchange now between 283 and 299 that 283 section will become free... I think terminating at Sha Tin Town Centre is better... Also, since there are very few frequency on 299X, I believe interchange passenger wont be many...

Counter-suggestion:
299 skips MOS, 99 extends to Yiu On or Heng On (WKS > Lee On > follow 87K to Yiu On / Heng On)

Would that be possible? It can save the time of people travelling on 299, and possibly increase the number of passengers on 99.
