Did some research online, BYD is actually one of the OEM manufacturer of parts for the China's toyota Corolla, parts such as exterior panels, interior, etc....
Also, BYD did admit that they use Foreign engineering to help built the F3, and as media points out, the exterior, internal, and some part of the chassis is not totally copyright protected by Toyota, such as the suspension, exhaused system, the only copyright protected material is the VVTI engine and some part of the mechanics, which BYD didn't use...
BTW: Nissan, Land Rover, Motorolla, Nokia, and SE are actually customer of BYD in development of products, and at the toyko lawsuits: BYD VS Sony, sony lost because that technology is not totally developed by Sony and therefore technically it's it's not 100% copied righted.
This is also why alot of bus body in HK, such as those Asia, Jit Luen, and Malaysia's M tran didn't get sue because there are some parts of the body is different then original, infact, as internation standard, if 30% of the parts one company used is different then the original product, then it doesn't consistute copy right infrinchment. |
