Yes, but the decision was taken to keep the MANs has much to do with their resale value to Britain and also the higher capacity of the MAN. In any case, I don't think it was much of a hassle for Citybus, they just make use of the fleet they have (like everybody else).
E200Dart is just one of the choice. As I said you have the Solos, SB180 and MAN and even some Japanese or Chinese types to choose from. The latest buy though, I concur with Bobby, is just a downsizing exercise to replace some double deckers. If you look at the KMB fleet a few years back and the fleet they have now, over a hundred of AMs were withdrawn without direct replacement bought in (instead most got replaced by AAs, which are larger), and that clearly indicates buses of that size is not something KMB desperately need anyway.
For the services operated with single deckers, only the 51, 203 and 276 cross my mind that a <10m single decker is really needed, and the latter two are using AMs anyway. The thing is, there are 15 of the G-reg AMs and quite a lot more G-reg (or newer) AAs that are staying in service for at least another 2 years. Until the AMs are expired, I don't think we may see an order for a replacement type. 其實點解我諗會入E200 , 始終ADL D product , 之前keeping on都有買Dart仔做車隊中細單層既主力.......
因為佢完全冇入過Optare , SOLO仔我諗未必有機
also之前都話明MAN都唔諗定再入even Single / Double Deck , Benz唔使諗 , Volvo同Scania都未必有HK真係Fit既model......
be honest , 51只係型號上的問題 , 203我好陰謀論咁講(我覺得佢佢去到三菱仔退唒個moment會skip左入面又一村club個段路)但入面個段路佔左返又一村唔少既客....

不過你講到SOLO , um.... 比較personal咁講 , first , 佢比起Dart應該冇咁襟玩同埋冇咁多線完全啱行 , 你試下用十米長既solo日日行211頂閘上山 , 實好快死
solo呢隻車有好多point比起Dart都可取....佢前軸咁前 , 比起超短既個D Dart仔 , solo車廂佈局應該會更實用 , 更寬敞.....
都係個人D咁講 , 我覺得solo呢隻陣係啱34M 呢D啱啱好坐滿or坐滿70%好間唔中先有人企下/爆D既線 , Dart仔係啱211,30呢D成日坐滿+好多時會頂閘既線...

Scania之前有邊個會諗有單層單層入到九巴
Solo如果車價岩,又可以符合佢要求,不見得佢冇機會入九巴
冇第一次邊有可能keep到日後既伙伴關係,ADL都係咁走到今
日同九巴既關係 ...

回番部分人關於E200 Dart問題:其實唔好講到E200Dart咁神化,
認為非買不可,講真E200 Dart講到尾都只係一架中型單層巴士,
呢個range既車多的是,歐洲美洲日本以至中國都有出過,低地台
高地台超底地台都有,九巴唔入Dart轉入k230/B7RLE都俾自己

雙層巴士俾九巴試,跟住之後無再跟進
