From the perspective of limited resources, replacing the route 296C by 796C would be a suitable decision. Notice that Bus fee is only guarantee a space to get on a bus but not for a seat, so there's no excuse to take no seats available on a bus as a reason of declining the cancellation of the route 296C.

However, the route 296C and 796C are actually doing different jobs. The route 296C is actually doing something much far away from serving the Kowloon West to Sheung Tak Estate. For example, to assist the route 296A, and responsible for a huge amount of short-distance passengers along the route, etc.

Consequently, it is suggested to do further research for the possibility of replaceing the route 296C.

都話296C係尚德已經夠客,296C有九龍灣客同太子客,而調景嶺客己經有796C,而98A,98C原先設計問題搞到好兜路,而296A確實需要輔助線清客,你確定坑口冇客? ...

1. 296C我從來未見過頂閘,九龍內陸流水都只係執雞

2. 296A係俾人特快去觀塘轉車,你整條行山的296M+93M,點幫296A清客?
仲想異想天開做埋98A山上轉乘果份,效率仲差過而家98A,山上真係多謝晒

3. 坑口有冇客係一件事,係咪要用98C做跨區又係第二件事囉

張796s通告叫受影響乘客坐796c轉796s, 斷估唔會叫人比$7.9去調景嶺轉車吧:Q
好應該增設一個雙向分段去調景嶺再轉796S, 兩程合計$4.6

而家796S縮去將軍澳站跟手仲CUT到30分鐘一班, 倒不如照係清半開, 停寶盈花園站後直去調景嶺站, 反正將軍澳站同將軍澳天主教小學都無乜人坐:(

296C是會頂閘的,我試過企將隧口觀察客量
296C下繁有不少班次可以企很多人/頂閘
不過條線客量一直在跌,被796C搶走了不少客,隨著九巴越加越貴,296C不再頂閘之日近了
