睇返07年九鐵年報, 東鐵過境線07年1月-12月1日收入係20.6億, 而本地線得13.8億.
本地線每日平均有69萬人乘坐, 過境線大約有25萬人, 而輕鐵就有37萬人.
九鐵營運情況一向係本地線車費偏低, 靠過境線抵銷返本地線, 同埋養住從未賺過錢既輕鐵.
若果要過境線減價, 唯有將東鐵本地線同輕鐵加返價. 到時, 就每日有超過100萬人付出比而家更加多既車費. |

Yes. I can't agree more, especially for the retails and caterings in the northern part of Hong Kong.
They will be hitting the most if people living in Sheung Shui/Fanling only need around $4 to go to Shenzhen.

They are already charging premium fare.
And you can't deny the fact that more northern NT people will spend in Shenzhen more frequently if they need only 4-5 bucks to go.

既然你都識講東鐵本地線都係蝕錢, 你認為港鐵肯為羅湖/落馬洲線減價既同時, 又肯維持本地線收費?

It doesn't take an hour for them to go to Shenzhen.
From the time u get on the train at Sheung Shui Station, it takes as fast as 15 mins for u to step out the boarder building of Shenzhen.
There were a few documentaries talking about the issue of retail and catering business loss in Sheung Shui and even Tin Shui Wai. Quite a lot housewives in Tin Shui Wai North actually go to Shekou once a week for all the daily needs of the whole coming week.
Shenzhen people are less likely to shop in Hong Kong for daily needs as their residential areas are further from the boarder. Things turn around when we look at the Hong Kong side. |
