DUBAI, United Arab Emirates Airline Emirates said Monday it was canceling an order for 10 Airbus A340 jets and was sending a team of technicians to France to assess the accuracy of promised delivery dates for the A380 superjumbo.
The airline, which has ordered 45 of the A380s and is the program's largest customer, said it would also cancel its options for 10 more of the mid-sized A340s.
"Emirates confirms it will not be taking delivery of its order and option for 20 Airbus A340-600 aircraft," an Emirates representative said.
The company is sending a team of technicians to Toulouse in mid-November "in order to assess if the revised timings we have been given for the delayed delivery of our A380s are achievable," said the representative, who asked not to be named because she was not authorized to speak to the media.
She said no decision had yet been made on buying other aircraft to replace the canceled order.
The Wall Street Journal had reported that Emirates Executive Vice Chairman Maurice Flanagan said the carrier would instead order 777 models from Boeing Co. |

邊個話「SQ要744」?
744四引擎,但相比343甚至係346,average cost點都係744平過佢地掛...
(簡單咁估計...)
當然多引擎唔一定完全等同用多o左油,不過正常o黎講應該係囉...
因為如果340真係比333甚至係744低D cost,我諗CX唔會咁笨唔搵
343甚至346而搵744掛...
當然更大原因係因為744可以一次過載更多人... |

首先推出的 A330 本來還算不錯,也推出了四引擎版本的 A340,
兩者除引擎相關部件外,其餘均可互用. 但 A340 用上了「不倫
不類」的 CFM 廉價引擎 (由美、法合資的公司) 故障密,又要特
意設零件倉,因為國泰的B744客機(購自新航者例外) B777,A330
都係 Rolls-Royce 引擎,這已是一個高成本的原因.
唔知係唔係因為咁,所以345同346要搵返RR而無得揀CFM呢?
不過聽返o黎o既345同346 o既RR都唔係好得好多...
另外有一個問題就係...惡晒而家係咁吸人地o既舊機,有D仲要係
三手機,佢真係可以keep到個cost比新機平?機價係平,不過我
估running cost應該唔會比佢自己o既一手機平得多...
更甚者,分分鐘會因為二/三手機而做到自己個image更差,因為
個人認為保養未必係好好而搞到成日壞... |

可能目前cx仍未找到合適既機型去作為未來既主力,
所以買住d 744返來用住先.
cx應該係得緊787/350開航之後,睇表現而會大量地買 |

787走KA 果邊會好d
可以fill到321同埋333之間o既空檔 (200-250座)
不過我都同意國泰留一部份自用, 飛thinner long-haul/ultra long-haul
350... 而家380呢壇野雖然唔關CX事,
但係350一改再改o既design同埋咁遲先交貨又會失分... |

而家 KA 全線客機都係 Airbus 出品
我就覺得 KA 多數會買番 Airbus o既 飛機
而 CX , 我就覺得佢只係對 Airbus o既 A330 有信心
